Body Bar Challenge DVD (Keli Roberts )
This is on the DVD with 2 other Body Bar workouts. It is very well chaptered. There are 4 background exercisers, but none show modifications. The workout is about 1 hour, and seems to hit all muscles except calves and abs (although she does obliques.) The music was good and very familiar -- all instrumental but some Stevie Wonder and Chicago among other older hits.
Keli used 2 bars (one heavy one light) - I only have one, and used my 8lb bar and a 13lb Danskin barbell, and 5 lb dumbbells for lateral raises, which made for a good intermediate level. The workout begins standing and you do upper sets for back, biceps and shoulders, and then some lower standing work(squats and lunges.) She does floor exercises after, for inner/outer thighs,, obliques (fun exercises - not the standard oblique crunches), chest and triceps. Keli stretches after each group of exercises. The workout ends with a 10 minute stretch -- very thorough for the lower body, and good neck stretches at the end.
I would consider this an endurance workout, and depending on the weights you use, can be from low intermediate to advanced. You don't need a body bar -- you can use dumbbells and/or barbells to get an effective workout. I felt worked out but not exhausted at the end, and tacked on a short ab workout to complete. The time went fast and I look forward to doing this again.
